FaithMode ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use the FaithMode mobile application or website (the "Service").

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Waitlist registration: Name and email address when you join our waitlist.
  • Account information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
  • Onboarding data: Age range, pronouns, Christian denomination, relationship with God, prayer frequency, prayer time preferences, spiritual goals, and focus areas — used solely to personalise your experience.
  • Prayer journal entries: Prayer text, scripture selections, and related content you submit.
  • Mood and spiritual check-ins: Mood ratings and closeness-to-God ratings recorded before and after prayer sessions.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Prayer session timestamps, session durations, streak counts, and feature interactions.
  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and device identifiers.
  • Notification data: Whether you have enabled push notifications and your preferences.

2.3 Screen Time / Family Controls

When you grant Screen Time permission, we access only the information necessary to block and unblock selected applications during prayer windows. We do not collect data about which specific apps you use outside of prayer sessions and do not share Screen Time data with third parties.

2.4 Special Category Data

Information about your religious beliefs, spiritual practices, and denomination constitutes "special category" personal data under GDPR Article 9. We collect this data only with your explicit consent and apply enhanced protections as described in this policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Personalise guided prayers and scripture recommendations based on your denomination, mood, and spiritual goals
  • Send prayer reminders and other push notifications you have enabled
  • Send waitlist updates and launch announcements via email
  • Process subscription payments and manage your account
  • Display your prayer history, streaks, and spiritual growth insights
  • Improve the Service through aggregated, anonymised usage analytics
  • Respond to customer support inquiries
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your prayer journal content, mood data, or spiritual information to train machine learning models without your explicit, separate consent.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a)): For special category data including religious denomination, spiritual beliefs, and prayer content. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.
  • Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): To provide the Service, process payments, and fulfil our obligations.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): For security, fraud prevention, and anonymised analytics, where not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): Where processing is required by applicable law.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers: Third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf (e.g., email delivery, payment processing, cloud hosting) under contractual data protection obligations.
  • Apple: Subscription payments and Screen Time functionality are processed through Apple's infrastructure, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Legal requirements: Where required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of FaithMode, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: If FaithMode is acquired or merged, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different policy.

We never share your prayer journal content, spiritual goals, denomination, or mood data with advertisers or data brokers.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records for up to 7 years under applicable tax law).

Waitlist email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, or until 12 months after the Service launches, whichever comes first.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest
  • Access controls limiting who within our organisation can access your data
  • Regular security assessments

No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights

8.1 All Users

  • Access and correction: Review and update your account information at any time within the app.
  • Deletion: Delete your account and associated data by contacting admin@designwithme.xyz.
  • Opt-out of marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link.
  • Push notifications: Disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

8.2 EEA and UK Residents (GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ('right to be forgotten').
  • Restriction: Request that we restrict processing in certain circumstances.
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent: At any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

8.3 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

You have the right to:

  • Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.

  • Limit use of sensitive personal information: We use sensitive data (including religious beliefs) only to provide the Service.
  • Non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have inadvertently done so, we will delete that information promptly.

10. International Data Transfers

FaithMode is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

For transfers from the EEA or UK to countries not recognised as providing adequate data protection, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice within the Service before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
